Have the Smile of Your Dreams!
With over twenty years experience, we create smiles that change lives. If you are
unhappy with your smile, with our expertise we will give you a Complete Smile Makeover
that will change the way you smile and feel about yourself, forever: Look Great
and Feel Great.
Before Your First Visit
- Gaps or missing teeth?
- Protruding teeth?
- Discoloured or yellowing teeth?
- Odd sized and shaped teeth?
- Gummy smile?
- Teeth are too long?
- Worn or chipped teeth?
- Old and ugly fillings and crowns?
These are some of the things that normally concern people about their teeth. It
is a good idea to think about exactly what it is you don’t like about your smile
before you come in for the consultation so that we can make sure we use the time
as constructively as possible.
It is also important to know the type of smile you’re aiming for - a ‘Bollywood’
dazzler or as natural one as possible.

At Global Dental Care…
In the past few years, cosmetic dentistry has seen great advances in technology,
with more natural looking ceramics, use of computers and imaging programmes.
Aesthetic dentistry no longer looks fake; the porcelains are more translucent and
the bonds stronger – with far superior techniques and materials than ever before.
This type of dentistry can actually strengthen teeth that have begun to fracture
and wear – adding life to your teeth as well as making them look better.
Our philosophy is not only to treat dental problems if they arise, but to prevent
them in the first place. We work with each patient to help them develop the best
regular regime for them, to keep their mouth healthy – and their smile attractive.
The cosmetic consultation is your first step in obtaining your perfect smile, and
is an opportunity to meet us in a friendly and relaxed environment. We listen to
the problems you feel you have with your teeth and assess your treatment needs.
This is explained to you and it is ensured you understand your treatment options.
With your input your new smile is then designed on the computer in front of you.
We answer any questions you may have about cosmetic dental treatment and the provision
of your new smile.

Imaging Your Smile
This is the latest computer technology, which is used to design your smile. With
your input we design your new smile keeping to the rules of smile design. The imaging
system is a specially designed graphic program that is used to manipulate a picture
of your smile on the computer screen. With your input, we will design the smile
you’ve always wanted and we will not design a smile that is impossible to achieve
in real terms.

Some Interesting Concepts in Smile Designing:
Golden Proportions have also been found in facial and dental elements:
The nasal height (A) is related to the maxillary height (B) as 1.000 : 0.618. The
sum of nasal height and maxillary height (A + B) are related to the mandibular height
(C) as 1.618 : 1.000.
The mandibular height (C) is related to the maxillary height (B) as 1.000 : 0.618.
The orofacial height (B + C) is related to the nasal height (A) as 1.618 : 1.000.
Note that each ratio is 1.618.

Dental Proportions
The width of the central incisor is in golden proportion to the width of the lateral
incisor (as seen from the front), which in turn is in golden proportion to the part
of the canine that is visible from the front.
Even though the negative space escapes the attention of the public, it cannot be
ignored. It creates a balance between cohesive and segregative forces in a smile
and provides a harmonious relationship between the smile and other facial features.
This example indicates that some fundamental principles are more easily perceived
than others.
The presence of a lateral negative space gives depth and mystery to a smile, while
its absence displays exuberance and brilliance paired with functional disturbances.
The dark space between the corners of the mouth and the outer surface of the canines
during a smile (blue line 1.0) is called negative space. The negative space is in
Golden Proportion with one half of the width of the upper anterior segment (blue
line 1.618).

Teeth Whitening
Your smile is important. It's one of the first things you notice when you meet someone.
A whiter, brighter smile is beautiful - it can help you feel better about yourself
and make a memorable impression
Your lifestyle and the aging process can stain and darken your teeth. Many things
we do on a regular basis can contribute to stained teeth, such as drinking coffee,
tea, cola and red wine or smoking.
Whitening can get your smile looking its best. Non-professional procedures and clinically
unproven teeth whitening tips can often lead to unsatisfactory results, you should
look for a whitening procedure that is:
Tooth Whitening – a Safe, Quick and Inexpensive Procedure. |
Tooth whitening, formerly known as bleaching, is a dental procedure that can be
used to correct many tooth discolorations. Just about anyone can benefit from tooth
whitening. However, treatment may not be as effective for some as for others.we
determine if you are a candidate for this procedure..we use the latest in whitening
technology to offer a safe method for creating a beautiful smile. In cases of extreme
tooth discoloration, crowns or veneers may be the only choice. But, because of the
low cost of whitening treatments, whitening is nearly always worth a solid try.
How is it done?
An impression is taken to make a specialized "mouthguard" or "stent" to hold the
bleach against the teeth. The material is used each night for about 3-4 hours for
a week or two, and at the end of this time, significant whitening will occur. In
some cases, the change is nothing short of brilliant. For confidence in appearance,
bleaching technology allows us to promise improvements in yellowing, aging or stained
teeth. For very severely stained teeth, crowns or veneers may be more appropriate.

..Is Tooth Whitening Safe? |
Yes, research and clinical studies indicate that whitening teeth under the supervision
of a dentist is safe. In fact, many dentists consider whitening the safest cosmetic
dental procedure available. As with any tooth whitening product, it is not recommended
for children under 13 years of age, or women who are pregnant or lactating.
Is Whitening your Teeth Painful? |
No, there is no pain associated with this treatment.
Are there any side effects? |
Some people may experience temporary increased tooth sensitivity to cold that can
be treated using a fluoride gel. .we provides this fluoride gel as part of the customized
tooth whitening treatment. These symptoms disappear within one to three days after
completion of the treatment.
What about over-the- counter (drugstore) Tooth Whiteners? |
Consulting is always the first step to whitening your teeth safely. Over-the-counter
tooth whitening strips, brush-on gels and toothpastes may take weeks or months to
whiten your teeth just a few shades. Our take home whitening system is clinically
proven to whiten your teeth eight shades in one to two weeks.
Laser or Light Activated System.
Clinical studies have shown that when a light source is added to the whitening process,
the results are enhanced. Some studies actually show an additional two shade improvement
when a light is used vs. no use of a light. Peroxide and light treatment significantly
lightened the color of teeth to a greater extent than did peroxide or light alone.
In-office teeth whitening systems that are not light activated can achieve the same
end result of whiter, brighter teeth, but usually with a higher strength of peroxide
or more office visits.

Remember! Orthodontic treatment today is the best solution for most people before
any cosmetic treatment like veneers, laminates etc. Since the treatment usually
takes six months to two years to complete, we recommend that the mal- positioned
teeth be aligned first. It does not ruin natural teeth but instead, leaves it intact
and is almost a permanent solution Orthodontic treatment involves much more than
just straightening your teeth! Your tooth bite, jaw joint articulation and periodontal
health are as equally important to us as your facial appearance and smile.

Open Bite Corrected by Orthodontic Treatment |
Orthodontic problems require specialized care. Patients who have dental and facial
irregularities should be cared for by an Orthodontist. Our specific qualifications
in the design, application and control of corrective appliances will bring teeth,
lips and jaws into proper alignment for optimal facial balance. |

Veneers
What Are Porcelain Veneers?
Porcelain veneers are thin shells of ceramic that bond directly to the front and
top surfaces of the teeth. They are an ideal choice for improving your smile and
have become increasingly popular due to their simplicity and versatility. With veneers
as an alternative, there is no reason to put up with gaps between your teeth, teeth
that are stained, badly shaped, or crooked. A veneer placed on top of your teeth
can correct these maladies, simply and quickly and help you achieve a beautiful
smile! |
Will They Look Like Normal Teeth?
When bonded to the teeth, the ultra-thin porcelain veneers are virtually undetectable
and highly resistant to coffee, tea, or even cigarette stains. For strength and
appearance, their resemblance to healthy, white tooth enamel is unsurpassed by other
restorative options. Because they are thin, light can shine through them and they
take on the natural color of the underlying tooth.
How Durable Are Porcelain Veneers?
With proper care, porcelain veneers will brighten your smile for well over a decade.
We will ensure that your veneers are crafted from the highest quality porcelains
and are bonded with the most advanced and proven materials available. |
The Procedure
This procedure will require three appointments:
- Diagnosis and treatment planning
- Preparation
- Bonding
Diagnosis & Treatment Planning
You will want to take an active role in planning your smile design. We will review
the corrective limitations of this procedure and help you plan your new smile. |
Top |
Preparation
The second appointment will take one to two hours. Although the porcelain veneer
is very thin, the teeth are lightly buffed to allow for the added thickness. Approximately
one half of a millimeter of tooth is removed. This may require little or no local
anesthesia.
Then a mold is taken of the teeth and sent to the lab for fabrication. In some cases,
temporary veneer will be placed at this time. The permanent veneer should be ready
in approximately one to two weeks. |
Bonding of the Veneer
At the time of your next appointment, We will first place the veneer on your teeth
with water or glycerin to check the fit and color. At this point, the color of the
veneer can still be adjusted by the shade of the cement used to adhere it. Once
the color is determined and the veneer is ready to be applied, the tooth is cleaned
with specific chemicals to achieve a bond. Special cement is placed between the
teeth and the veneer and a visible light beam is used to harden the cement. This
appointment takes approximately one to two hours. |
Care & Follow-Up
Brush and floss daily. Return for a follow-up visit after one to two weeks. |
Maintenance of Your New Veneers
Brush and floss as you normally would. Don’t be afraid that you will damage your
veneers by doing so. Non-abrasive toothpaste is recommended. A good home care regimen
will insure the best aesthetic success of your veneer. |
You may experience some sensitivity to hot and cold after placement of your veneer.
This is due to the amount of enamel left on the tooth after preparation. Sensitivity
is totally normal and should dissipate in one to two weeks. If sensitivity persists,
please call the office.
If you are a known clincher (bruxer), please be sure to let us know. We may recommend
a night guard for you to wear to minimize stress placed upon your teeth while you
sleep.
We hope that your new veneers fulfill your esthetic goal. With proper home care
and scheduled visits, they are sure to provide you with a beautiful smile for years
to come.

Bonding
An alternative to veneers, bonding can be used as a restorative procedure for teeth
that are chipped, cracked, discolored, or misarranged. |
How Does It Work? |
The tooth is prepared for the procedure by lightly etching the surface and applying
a bonding liquid. Once the liquid sets, a plastic resin is applied and sculpted
into the desired shape by the dentist. Once set, the resin is trimmed, smoothed,
and polished to a natural appearance. |
Considerations |
The bonding procedure can often be completed in a single office visit, and can significantly
improve the appearance of a tooth. However, since the plastic resin used is not
as strong as your natural tooth enamel, it is more likely to stain, chip, or break
than natural teeth. Bonding typically lasts three to five years before repair is
needed.

Crowns
Most dentistry looks like dentistry. Our goal is to provide dentistry that is undetectable.
We replace existing crowns and fillings with restorations that look and feel like
your natural teeth.
Where damage to a person's teeth is extreme and apparently beyond repair, we can
use porcelain or porcelain "fused on to gold" crowns to make the smile appear "as
new". This is an extremely reliable technique for repairing the most severe dental
problems, even permanently replacing missing teeth to offer a complete smile and
a functional bite. We are renowned for the quality of our work and the fantastic
changes we make for people using this technology. These treatments are used for
a long-lasting correction of major dental problems. It is not unusual for these
treatments to last for 15 to 20 years, which is as close to permanent as dental
treatment can get.
How Long Does It Take?
A traditional crown requires at least two office visits. Initially, we will remove
decay, shape the tooth, and fit it with a temporary crown of either plastic or metal.
On the subsequent visit, we will remove the temporary crown, and then fit and adjust
the final crown. Finally, we will cement the crown into place and you have a new
beautiful looking tooth. |
Key Benefits
- Replaces missing teeth
- Offers support to misshapen teeth or badly broken teeth
- Looks completely natural
- Fixes "smile" and functional chewing problems.
What Is The Capability Of A Crown?
Crown and bridgework is a very reliable solution for major dental problems caused
through accidents, diseases, or wear and tear. Major problems can usually be corrected
using these techniques. Materials used in these repairs are either high-grade porcelain
or porcelain bonded to gold. The higher strength of the porcelain and gold materials
is recommended to treat the most serious of dental problems. Where accidental damage
has occurred resulting in lost teeth, or teeth have broken away through excessive
wear, or as the result of old fillings breaking, crowns and/or bridges can be used
as a long-term solution.
Many people have unexplained pain from filled back teeth. This is usually due to
hairline cracks in the chewing part of the tooth. Placing crowns on these teeth
relieves the pain and allows a return of full dental function for these teeth. In
front teeth, older fillings can both weaken the teeth and cause appearance problems
due to staining or chipping. Porcelain crowns and bridges are suitable in cases
where porcelain veneers are not. In teeth with root canal fillings, crowns can prevent
breakage. |

Bridges
All of your teeth play an important role in speaking, chewing, and maintaining proper
alignment of other teeth. Tooth loss doesn't necessarily have to occur as you age.
But if you do lose teeth, they must be replaced to maintain proper function of your
mouth. Fortunately, there are options for correcting tooth loss. |
Options
A bridge — a device used to replace missing teeth — attaches artificial teeth to
adjacent natural teeth, called abutment teeth. Bridges are either permanently attached
(fixed bridges) or they can be removable.
Fixed bridges are applied by either placing crowns on the abutment teeth or by bonding
the artificial teeth directly to the abutment teeth. Removable bridges are attached
to the teeth with metal clasps or by precision attachments. |
If you're missing one or more teeth, you may be aware of their importance to your
appearance and dental health. Your teeth work together for many daily functions
from eating to speaking. With missing teeth, it's difficult to do these things.
Missing teeth can and should be replaced. Fixed bridges are a great way to restore
your dental health and appearance. |
What Is A Bridge/Fixed Partial Denture?
A bridge (fixed partial denture) is a device that fills the gap where teeth are
absent. Fixed bridges are bonded into place and can only be removed by a dental
professional. Removable bridges, as the name implies, can be taken out and cleaned.
Fixed bridges offer more stability than their removable counterparts.

Why Do I Need A Bridge?
Oral functionality and appearance are important reasons for wearing a bridge. A
bridge helps support your lips and cheeks. The loss of a back tooth may cause your
mouth to sink and your face to look older. |
Dental health is the most important reason for a bridge. Teeth were designed to
complement each other. Unusual stresses are placed on the gums and other oral tissues
when teeth are missing, causing a number of potentially harmful disorders. |
Increased risk of gum disease has proven to be one of the worst side effects of
missing teeth and can be minimized with a bridge.
Missing teeth can cause speech disorders as they are used to make many of the sounds
we use to speak clearly.
How Is A Bridge Made and Attached?
The procedure usually takes two or three appointments to complete. At the first
appointment, We will prepare the teeth on either side of the gap by removing a portion
of the enamel and dentin. |
Since the bridge must be fabricated very precisely to ensure correct bite and to
match the opposing tooth, impressions of the teeth are taken and sent to the lab
where the bridge will be constructed. |
Fixed bridges are typically cemented to the natural teeth next to the space left
by the missing tooth. A pontic (false tooth) replaces the lost tooth. Crowns, which
are cemented onto the natural teeth, provide support for the bridge. |
What Materials are Used?
Bridges can be constructed from non- precious alloys, porcelain, or a combination
of these materials. Porcelain is often bonded to either a precious or non-precious
metal. |
How Do I Take Care Of My Bridge?
A strict regimen of brushing and flossing will keep the bridge and surrounding teeth
clean. This is of critical importance since the bridge relies on the neighboring
teeth for support. |

Cosmatic Gum Surgery
These procedures are a predictable way to cover unsightly, sensitive or exposed
root surfaces and to prevent future gum recession. If you are unhappy with the appearance
of short unsightly teeth this can be greatly improved by a combination of periodontal
procedures.
Although your teeth appear short, they may actually be the proper length. The teeth
may be covered with too much gum tissue. We can correct this by performing the periodontal
plastic surgery procedure, crown lengthening.
During this procedure, excess gum and bone tissue is reshaped to expose more of
the natural tooth. This can be done to more than one tooth, to even your gum line,
and to create a beautiful smile.
Another cosmetic procedure is the soft tissue graft. It is used to cover unattractive
tooth roots, reduce gum recession and protect the roots from decay and eventual
loss.
Tooth loss causes the jawbone to recede and can lead to an unnatural looking indentation
in your gums and jaw, an appearance of a general aging. The original look of your
mouth may not be recaptured because of spaces remaining under and between replacement
teeth. They may appear too long compared to nearby teeth.
Bone grafting following tooth loss can preserve the socket/ridge and minimize gum
and bone collapse. There is less shrinkage and a more esthetic tooth replacement
for either an implant crown or fixed bridge around the replacement teeth.

Crown Lengthening
This periodontal procedure is designed to expose more tooth structure prior to restorative
and cosmetic dentistry and/or to improve the esthetics of your gum line. A frequently
asked question is whether we can change the esthetics of a gummy smile because the
teeth appear somewhat short. Your teeth can actually be of proper length and just
covered with excessive gum tissue. In such circumstances, an esthetic crown lengthening
procedure will correct this by exposing the shape of your natural teeth.
Esthetic crown lengthening can also be done to single teeth to even your gum line
and create a pleasing smile. If your teeth are decayed, fractured at or below the
gum line or have insufficient tooth structure for a new crown retention, a crown
lengthening procedure may be recommended to enable your dentist to perform a restorative
and/or cosmetic dental procedure.
Crown lengthening (or crown exposure) is required when your tooth needs a new crown
or other restoration. The edge of that restoration is deep below the gum tissue
and not accessible. It is also usually too close to the bone or below the bone.
This procedure create a new gum-to-tooth relationship. This allows your dentist
to reach the edge of the restoration, ensuring a proper fit of your restoration
to the tooth. It should also provide enough tooth structure so the new restoration
will not come loose in the future. This allows you to clean the edge of the restoration
when you brush and floss to prevent decay and gum disease.
Procedure
During this procedure, excess gum and bone tissue is reshaped to expose more of
your natural teeth, which can significantly enhance periodontal health.
Benefits
Whether you have crown lengthening to improve function or esthetics, patients often
receive the benefits of both: a beautiful new smile and improved periodontal health
– your keys to smiling, eating and speaking with comfort and confidence.
Crown Lengthening procedure can be effectively done with lasers.
Recall
Professional examinations at regular four to six-month recall appointments are necessary.
Developing problems can be found at an early stage and repaired easily, while waiting
for a longer time may require redoing entire restorations. We will contact you when
it is time for your recall appointment. |
